Property managed by Beside The Sea HolidaysI loved Mariners Moon. We (a family of 5 adults and a dog) had a week's stay here. The house is very seasidey, roomy, bright, airy and clean. A lot of time was spent in the garden, often with only the breeze on the marsh and birds singing to be heard (rarely cars).
The kitchen is well equipped. The beds comfortable. We used Jempsons supermarket, in Rye. We walked to the Premier shop too (small convenience shop). Lots of seasidey shops/cafes run parallel behind the beach.
I loved the beach, especially our sunset visit, walking our dog, the sand was lovely and I had several swims in the sea.
We visited Bodiam Castle, Rye, Hastings and Battle.
The hosts were proactive, asking if all was ok.
Very happy to recommend this lovely house to others and may well return ourselves one day, rather sorry to only of had a week. Thank you.

Thank you so much, Lorraine. We're so pleased Mariners Moon gave the five of you a proper week by the sea, and "seasidey" is exactly what we hope it feels like. Your description of the garden is the bit we loved most: the breeze off the marsh, the birds, and hardly a car to be heard. People don't tend to expect that until they're sitting in it. Several swims and a sunset walk on the sand with the dog is our idea of a good week too. Jempsons and the little Premier shop are the two we'd send anyone to, so it's good to know they did the job, and that you got out to Bodiam and Battle as well. Being sorry it was only a week is about the best thing you could have said. We'd love to have you all back for a longer one. Richard, Sophie, Arthur & Dougal 🐾

Property managed by Beside The Sea HolidaysA lovely week
We had a lovely week at Mariners Moon. It's a cosy home that really gives you the feeling of being in a proper beach house, and the garden is wonderful — such an amazing view from there. The rooms are perfectly comfortable, though a couple felt a little cramped, and closet space was somewhat limited since much of it was taken up by the owner's things. That said, everything was freshly made up and spotlessly tidy — the house has a lovely cosy feel, just a touch "full" in places. The location is a real highlight. The beach is within walking distance, and Rye is well worth a visit too — but beyond the beach, you'll want a car or bike to get around comfortably. The nearest supermarket is about 15 minutes away by car, and while there's a pub nearby, we ended up eating at The New Inn in Winchelsea instead, which we'd happily recommend. We felt safe and settled the whole stay, and the peace and quiet paired with that gorgeous view made it a really enjoyable week. A lovely place all round.
