The house was great for our needs. The house was close to local shops. The house is in a quiet location, I imagine that is likely to change during peak season.

Disappointing

There were issues from day I got in:
1. Hot water system was not working. Spent 2 days having a basin wash😡
2. The back door was not quite right struggled to open it so used front door only.
3. The balcony from front door was rotten in places so you had to be careful where you walked.
4. There were ants in the main bedroom, a trail of it
5. Walking to front door was a task, lights missing.
Joseph was informed, hot water was fixed on 3rd. Other things not . Very disappointed. Will definitely not be going back.

Hi Jennifer. I'm sorry to hear that you found your stay disappointing. In regard to the issue with the hot water only being luke warm, you notified me about the issue midday on the second day. I was able to get a technician out the following morning to rectify the issue. The property is on the budget side, hence the price, so not everything is perfect. Yes, there is a slight uphill walk to the house (can't do anything about that). In regard to the other issues, I inspected the house after you checked out and the back door opened OK and didn't see any evidence of ants. I did message you via the booking.com app to offer a refund to compensate you for your troubles but you didn't reply.

A great place to stay for a few nights, we were looking for a wood fire and it delivered, just need your own firewood, close to local cafe for daily coffee and 20 minutes to walk to the beach.
House was clean, had pretty much everything we needed in the kitchen.
A great way to spend a cold wet winters school holiday to get away from the noise and business.
Owners were very responsive, had no hot water but was easily fixed.

Wonderful basic accomodation, felt very cosy and warm. Log fire was great and our 5 year old loved the fooseball table! Everything was sparkling clean. Location was excellent, walking distance to the beach and local shops. Great local recommendations and friendly communication, Marcus even made sure that the dishwasher was fixed in time for our stay which was much appreciated. Our large dog was secure on the deck, our small dog was able to get through the wiring but it wasn’t an issue for us as he tends to hang around wherever our other dog is. Kitchen mostly well equipped, although I would bring one of my large stainless steel pots from home as the large pot had a flaking teflon base. I would also bring hand soap as the dispensers were filled with what I think was dishwashing liquid. There was building work happening next door on the last day of our stay, but the shack is well insulated and we didn’t hear the noise when the door was closed. We would definitely stay here again!
