Sarlat is one of the finest medieval towns in France, and where you stay within it matters enormously. Being inside the old city walls — as this property is — puts you in the middle of everything that makes Sarlat worth the trip.<br/>The apartment is spacious (notably so for a property in a historic city center). Everything was in good working order, and the air conditioning was genuinely powerful.<br/>A word on parking, since it comes up in reviews of properties like this: there is no on-site parking, but that is simply the reality of being within a medieval walled city. It is not a problem. There are ample municipal lots ringing the old town, all within easy walking distance. The trade-off is more than worth it — the absence of cars inside the walls is precisely what gives old Sarlat its character and its remarkable quiet. Leave the car outside and enjoy the place on its own terms.<br/>Highly recommended.

Frédéric and Laura were both very helpful and friendly. The apartment is in a great location and had great amenities. Bed was comfortable shower had great pressure and lots of hot water. If I ever return I would stay there again.

Très bel appartement en plein centre de Sarlat, magnifiquement rénové.<br/>Emplacement idéal pour se perdre dans les petites rues de la ville, proche des commerces, restaurants, du marché… <br/>Nous avons vraiment beaucoup apprécié ce séjour !

Frederic is a great host. He was communicative throughout. He responded quickly when we had a question about the washing machine. Frederic was consistently patient and informative and always answered my many questions. The apartment is spacious and as described. The beds are very comfortable . We had one key for the house door and the apartment door. It is paramount to always take the key, as the apartment and front doors can fall shut and one could get inadvertently be locked out.<br/>The taxi drop off required us to pull our luggage down Rue Montaigne which was doable. Luckily, when we left, our taxi was able to pick us up on a non-market day from the cathedral which is just around the corner. Otherwise, the taxi would have needed to pick us up from the Hotel La Couleuvrine which is uphill on cobblestone alleys. A taxi driver might assist with luggage. Something to consider when booking in the beautiful pedestrian area. We would definitely recommend Frederic and the apartment and Sarlat.
