I was clear that I could not make it at all it said refund were available but he ignored me , Even for a new date ! Sad

I’m confused by this review. As a ten year host, with hundreds of 5 star reviews, we’ve learned to make every effort to under promise and over deliver. Implementing our seven day no refund policy is a good example of this. It exists because last minute cancellations mean empty nights. But, we always try to work with guests when “life” issues come up such as with this case. Every guest who makes a request for a last minute cancellation is offered a refund if we can find another guest to take their place. We are not obliged to do this but we do try to be fair and go above and beyond. That requires the last minute cancelling guest to cancel their reservation which opens the dates for interested guests to see. If a cancelling guest doesn’t follow through with their part then we are unable to find others to take their place and the opportunity for a refund is lost. We are sad too.

We spent two nights at the Hemlock Haven dome on 1BSI with our dog and can’t wait to return! If you want an experience that has all the connection to nature and peacefulness of camping but want to sleep in a real bed and not have to haul a ton of gear with you, this is the place for you. Serene panoramic views of forest and lake from the clear side of the dome - a private dock - fresh clean bedding and towels - every necessary thing plus some extras thoughtfully supplied - and the best, most thorough communication I’ve ever experienced from an Airbnb host. This is a really unique, peaceful, fun place to stay. Highly recommended!!

I'd give Kent and his island 6 stars if they would let me! We stayed for 2 unforgettable days in the igloo/bubble cap site. I've never seen a site that had more accommodations, complete with firewood, fire pit, BBQ, utensils, and batteries, this place was the perfect harmony of nature but not at the point where it would be called "roughing it". Not to mention he and his wife were super friendly! We're already planning on returning in the spring to try one of his other sites on the island.

Can’t say enough good things about Kent, Heather, and this beautiful island!<br/>The hosts were so friendly and they (and their crew!) truly do make sure you have everything possible for a relaxing getaway. The island is absolutely gorgeous!! My husband and I are generally more “heavy duty” campers so having a camping experience with almost no effort made our little getaway feel like twice the vacation. We’re already daydreaming about our next island getaway!
