Me and my wife loved everything about our stay to our private little dome. It was quiet, peacefull, and more importantly it was quiet. Kent was an awesome host from when we pulled in to the last ferry ride home. All in all it was a great way to spend our wedding anniversary together

"Quiet, peaceful, and more importantly quiet" may be the most efficient review of Hammock Haven we've ever received. We'll take it as high praise, since quiet is one of the few things Annabessacook Lake produces in unlimited quantities. Thank you also for the kind words about Kent. He does his best to make the whole arc of the stay feel easy, from the moment you pull in to that last ferry ride back to the mainland. Most of all, congratulations on your anniversary. If you’re questioning whether or not to book it…just do it! If the ferry ride seems intimidating to you, it’s really so easy-going. You park, put your stuff in a cart and then just wheel it to the dock. The captain takes it from there! It’s a super quick ride over to the island and they will offload your stuff and take it on up to your site from there. Hammock Haven is absolutely beautiful and everything it says it is. Plenty of space to feel private. Your own dock and hammock. Fire pit outside, and wood stove inside the dome to take the chill out of the air. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Plenty of battery in the dome to charge you phones and laptop. When those batteries run out, there are many replacements up at corporate HQ which is a short distance from the bathrooms. The little beach at the end of the island was nice to canoe to and play fetch with our puppy in the water. It’s so silent out there. Be sure to hit that sauna too! Can’t wait to return! Thank you! 😊

We're especially glad you put the ferry at ease for anyone who finds it intimidating. Park, load the cart, roll it to the dock, and the captain handles the rest. It's a short ride, and your gear finds its way up to your site without you carrying a thing. It sounds like Hammock Haven delivered on all of it: your own dock and hammock, the fire pit outside, the wood stove taking the Maine chill off the dome, and a comfortable bed at the end of the day. We're glad the batteries kept up, and that corporate HQ held up its end of the bargain. Canoeing to the little beach to play fetch with your puppy in the water, in all that silence, sounds like an excellent use of an island. Glad the sauna made the list too. We can't wait to welcome you back!

Hammock Haven Anniversary Trip '26

We enjoyed all the amenities! Kayaking/canoeing, beach front, trails, sunrise/sunset and compost bathrooms. We got their in the rain but made the most of the wood stove and finished the trip with beautiful sunny weather

My friend and I had a great time staying in the Hammock Haven dome! We appreciated Kent’s suggestions to bring lots of food, warm layers, and little else, as most things such as kitchen supplies and linens were supplied. The compost bathrooms were amazing, and the pump shower was quite the experience! We really enjoyed spending time on the dock, paddle boarding, cooking over the fire, and otherwise relaxing. Of course, as the space is amongst nature, we faced some swarms of insects, stormy weather, and other difficulties, but Kent and the whole team on the island were very helpful and responsive when we requested support. I’d definitely come back for another round of relaxation!

Kent's packing advice tends to boil down to "bring food and warm layers, leave the rest," and we're glad it held up. We stock the kitchen supplies and linens so you can spend your energy on paddle boarding and cooking over the fire rather than hauling gear across the water. We also appreciate the kind words about the compost bathrooms, and we're delighted the pump shower earned the phrase "quite the experience." That's about the most accurate review it has ever received. As for the insects and the stormy weather, that's Annabessacook Lake reminding you whose island it really is. Very isolated place which exactly what we wanted! This is pure nature and you have all the tools you need. We felt like found our little utopia here. Peaceful and calm days, it is hust a break from our daily lives. We lived that place and will come back for sure!
