Property managed by One Big Sustainable IslandWe are from Maine and this was such a fun surprise place! Kent’s hospitality was remarkable- from having canoes, fishing poles, firewood ready to boat pick up and drop off- this was a very memorable few days with my son. It’s really true in his instructions - you will have everything you need. It was so quiet and secluded we didn’t even know other people were there! If you’re looking for something a little different this is it!

Laura, thank you! We love hearing that lifelong Mainers can still find a surprise on a Maine lake. Kent and the Reset Crew put a lot of care into having the canoes, fishing poles and firewood ready to go, and the ferry running, so that the only thing left for you to do is step off the boat and start enjoying the island. We're glad the instructions held up and that you really did have everything you needed. And we're delighted Loon Point felt so quiet and secluded that the rest of the island apparently vanished. That's exactly the trick we're going for. Thank you for spending a few memorable days here with your son. "Something a little different" is a fine way to describe Annabessacook Lake, and we'd be happy to welcome the two of you back anytime.

We try to have everything you need already waiting so the only thing left to do is settle in and enjoy the Maine lake. We were able to enjoy the outdoors and the water, soaking up our last moments of vacation. Would return to 1 Big Sustainable Island if we had the chance!

Shaida, thank you! Being the perfect end to a Maine trip is a lovely role for Loon Point to play. We put a lot of thought into how each site is set up, so that arriving on the island feels less like a logistics exercise and more like stepping straight into vacation. We're glad it felt neat and well considered when you got there. Soaking up the last moments of a vacation by the water sounds like exactly the right way to close things out. Annabessacook Lake is good at that sort of thing. If the chance comes around again, we'd love to welcome you back to the island!

We arrived later than we thought and were supposed to take the kayaks to the island, but because it was already late, Kent picked us up in the ferry. He’s very accommodating and the island is such a calm space with all the amenities to feel comfortable and connected to nature. Thank you 1BSI, we love you

Paddling to the island is a lovely way to arrive, though it does lose some of its charm once the sun has clocked out for the evening, so Kent was happy to meet you at the water instead. And we're delighted Loon Point gave you that calm, comfortable, connected-to-nature feeling. That balance is exactly what we're going for out here on Annabessacook Lake: enough amenities to feel at ease, few enough distractions to actually notice where you are.
