We’re delighted you had such a great private island experience, but we have to admit that catching your personal-best bass right off the dock is going to be difficult for us to take credit for. Annabessacook Lake apparently decided to provide the deluxe welcome package. We’re especially glad you enjoyed the swimming platform, hammocks, seating areas, and off-grid power setup. Naughty Dog Island was designed to be a private island getaway in Maine where you can disappear into the lake for a few days without having to disappear entirely from civilization. And for anyone dreaming of a Maine fishing getaway, your review has now established a rather dangerous precedent: apparently the bass are expected to provide personal bests. Thanks for spending a few days of island life with us. We’d love to have you back!

Rowan, thank you! “One of the greatest experiences I have had with a stay” is going to keep us smiling for a while. We’re especially glad a little Maine rain didn’t get in the way of enjoying Naughty Dog Island. A private island stay in Maine does occasionally come with weather supplied directly by Maine, but apparently the island passed its rainy-day exam. Thank you for the wonderful words about the experience and the care that goes into it. Hearing “worth every penny” means a great deal to us. And we particularly like the part about returning. We’d love to have you back, perhaps with a little more sunshine next time!

That’s exactly what we hope for from a dog-friendly lake vacation in Maine: plenty of adventure when you want it, plenty of quiet when you don’t, and an entire island for the four-legged member of the family to investigate. Alec, three years in a row! At this point, we may have to stop calling you visitors and start considering you seasonal island residents. We love having you back at Naughty Dog Island, and hearing that each stay keeps getting better means a lot to us. As for your dog declaring it the greatest place on earth, we see no reason to question such an obviously unbiased and authoritative source.
