Property managed by One Big Sustainable IslandThe stargazer was beautiful. The whole campsite was perfect and exploring the island was fun too. The place was clean and although it was glamping and everything was taken care of it still felt like camping (in a good way) extremely easy check out with a lot less chores than than a typical air bnb. Kent answered the phone right away and was extremely helpful and responsive with the few questions we had. All around a peaceful and beautiful get away and a great place to trip and look at the scenery. Thanks a lot Kent!

Kristen, thank you! We're so glad the StarGazer and the rest of the island lived up to the view. "It still felt like camping (in a good way)" is just about the perfect description of what we're going for. The idea is to take care of the parts nobody loves while leaving the parts that make a night on a Maine lake feel like an adventure. We're also happy the checkout was painless. Vacation shouldn't end with a list of chores, so we'd rather you spend that time exploring the island or watching the water. And thank you for the kind words about Kent. He does tend to answer the phone, and we'll pass along the credit to him and the Reset Crew for keeping everything clean and ready. A floating dome on a Maine lake comes with a few more "how does this work?" moments than your average getaway, so we try to answer the questions before you have to ask them. Property managed by One Big Sustainable IslandStaying in the Stargazer was a magical experience, even during a storm, which was happening on the first day we arrived. While the floor of the main cabin was wet, the dome stayed dry and cozy and was beautiful to experience in the rain. We were treated with cloudy days and sunny days, and they all had something special to offer. We loved swimming (yes at the end of September) and then jumping in the sauna after! All in all, a beautiful place allowing for a truly unique, and restorative experience. We will certainly be back!

We're sorry about the wet floor in the main cabin on your arrival day, and we appreciate you mentioning it plainly. We're glad the dome itself stayed dry and cozy while the weather did its thing overhead. Watching a storm roll across Annabessacook Lake from inside the StarGazer is one of those experiences we couldn't schedule if we tried, and it sounds like the cloudy days and the sunny ones each made their own case. Swimming at the end of September and then heading straight for the sauna, though, is a particularly well-designed sequence. We're impressed. Restorative is exactly what we hope the island offers, especially once the season starts to quiet down. We enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor and interesting snippets of history about the area. The stargazer was a magical experience that we won’t forget! We lucked out and had gorgeous clear weather so both nights we got to watch the stars from our bed. We will absolutely be back to enjoy this beautiful place of serenity.
